Fäviken – a farm at the foot of the mountain


Fäviken offers individual activities, one-day events or ones that take place over a longer period of time. Many of these are organised by us, but we also use local suppliers. Below is a list with some suggested activities and prices. If you have other ideas, please let us know as many of our events can be tailored to meet customer requirements.
All prices include VAT and are for one participant in a group of eight people.

Half-day with shooting and good food
You arrive at the estate and are taken to the shooting range to go shooting with an instructor. Then you can take a sauna and relax in the dormitory before eating dinner at Magasinet. Dinner is composed of a number of courses, mostly with ingredients from the farm and the surrounding area, along with suitable drinks. This is rounded off with coffee in front of the fire and then transport back to Åre.

A morning in the mountains with snowmobiling, scenery and elk stew
We meet in Fröå in the morning, before taking a guided snowmobile trip north of Åreskutan. At lunchtime our staff will greet you at Tjärntorpet, a beautifully located shieling that once belonged to one of the area’s many copper mines. A steaming hot lunch al fresco is served next to the old barn – a big bowl of elk stew with freshly baked bread, followed by coffee and cake.

A morning with shooting and traditional Swedish food at Magasinet
You arrive here in the morning to shoot shotguns on our shooting range with our instructor. After you have finished shooting we walk back to the farm for lunch at Magasinet. This is a filling, traditional Swedish meal, rounded off with coffee and cake.

A full day of scenery, shooting and superb food
The day begins with a guided snowmobile trip from Fröå copper mine, over the mountain to Fäviken and an al fresco lunch at Tjärntorpet shieling. After this the snowmobile trip continues to the estate for shotgun shooting on our wonderful ranges, with instruction. When you have finished shooting, the sauna in the dormitory will be hot so you can relax and prepare for dinner. At Magasinet you will be served a number of courses, mostly with ingredients from the farm and the surrounding area, along with suitable drinks. This is rounded off with coffee in front of the fire and then transport back to Åre.

Learn more about food and drink – and stay overnight
The afternoon begins with a glass of sparkling wine that is produced from birch sap, along with a short presentation of the day’s activities. After this half the group take a cookery course with our kitchen staff, learning different techniques and tips for cooking wilderness foods. The other half of the group go down to the wine cellar with our sommelier to taste and select the evening’s drinks. The group then meets up in Magasinet’s dining room to enjoy the food and drink that have been selected and then prepared by our chefs. The evening continues in front of the fire with coffee and digestifs made from mountain berries. When we think the evening is drawing to a close we take you to the part of the house that we call the dormitory, where we have six newly renovated two-bed rooms. After a good night’s sleep you are served a traditional Jämtlandic breakfast, before you check out and depart.

Fäviken All Inclusive – no compromise
You land at the airport in Vaernes or Frösö, where we provide a transfer to the estate. Once you arrive you check in and we begin with a guided tour of the property. During your stay you have free access to the entire estate and we guarantee that your group are our only guests. This means that you have our team’s full attention and service available whenever you wish. During the days we organise a number of different activities according to your wishes; nothing is impossible. All meals are served by us, unless you wish otherwise, and we check in advance how you envisage everything so that we can match your requirements. When your stay comes to an end we help you with transfers back to the airport.
